Description

There was a man-take the word 'man' as human-for it was never really known-nothing was ever really known about them. This man, a shadowy figure ended up lost on the shores of a grotesque and quiet land. The figure, greeted by the dense fog, came with nothing but a broken and sinking sail, an empty bottle of rum, that which now, had been filled with seawater and wet clothes. The figure noticed how everything was frail and strangely solemn. They tried shouting: "Hello? Is anybody here?" But no response. The man roamed the area, and yonder upon the murky, unusual trees-"woods!" the figure exclaimed. And so, did they venture into the woods-but then, it was nothing but trees. There was no sign of life, neither humans nor animals. However, on a very high cliff, there stood a beguiling, austere tower. And so, the anonymous figure sought the only thing that left a crumb of life on the lifeless land. Exploring into the cracking walls of the tower, the figure realized they were standing on a ghost land. On a certain abandoned room of the tower, the anonymous figure saw pages and pages of scrolls, though most of them were blank, there was some which was filled with black ink. Like the tower, the threes and the land-they were left abandoned. But were they? Or were these pieces of scrolls left behind intentionally? The figure recognized the writings as foreign but, fortunately, he knew the language and understood. There, with the faint streak of the pale moonlight escaping from the heavy curtains, he read the words: From "The Tales of Castile" "Sieve: The Forgotten Land" Written by Giovanna Emeraude.
