After being rejected by her first love, Prince Zuko, Katara settles for an arranged marriage to the childish but well-meaning Avatar Aang. She grows increasingly frustrated with her immature and whimsical husband and seeks solace with the very same Prince Zuko who broke her heart.

Racked with guilt for his feelings for his best friend's wife and regret that he let Katara go in the first place, Zuko imagines an alternative timeline where he and Katara have the happily-ever-after they were denied.
