When the cruel Lonnie Byers leaves Joyce behind, heartbroken with two kids, chief of police Jim Hopper decides to step in and help the hopeless family. Soon enough feelings start to develop between the two of them and El, Hopper's adopted daughter acts like siblings with Joyce's sons especially Will.
