I could feel my body drenched in blood, my knee-high dress sticking to my skin as it blotted in dark red. Were Peribelle's hands were a moment ago, now was her heart. Still beating. Still thumping. Her frail body was now an indiscernible mass of flesh and bone, reeking a blatant metallic stench. Once upon a time there was a playful little fairy, with beautiful wings the color of the shiniest emeralds (this she inherited from her father), and with a beautiful pair of eyes like two gleaming obsidian rocks embedded in turquoises (this she inherited from her mother). The name of the fairy was Moongleam Heathersong. Moongleam knew this was an imperative day not only for her and her family, but for the whole Fairy Garden! You see, little children, today was Moongleam's eighteenth birthday, and that is a great deal in fairy culture, you know.
