Chapter 1: Pressed Juice & Paige

Decisions ruled my life. Every moment was based on another, every action resulting in an unchangeable consequence. The definitiveness of a choice gone wrong scared me.

And then I met him. So confident, so sure of himself and everything he ever did, an ever-present bright smile commanding the attention of a room, daring you to second guess him. So sure, that when I was with him, I was sure too.

The fear of creating undesirable circumstances with my own choices had left me paralyzed, unable to move forward or back. I was stuck, insistent on keeping everything around me just as it was so I didn't have to contend with disappointment, rejection. Failure.

But he was the one thing I could never count on staying the same.
