In 2148 CE, humanity discovered an ancient technology on the planet Mars known as a 'Mass Relay'. With it, they began exploring new reaches of the galaxy and expanding their power in the Milky Way. However, after a terrible war with the Turian race, which is commonly referred to as the 'First Contact War', humanity now resides with the other species on the Citadel -- with their own political hub and representatives. The future of their people seems bright and prosperous, if not for a new threat in the form of the reapers - an ancient artificial intelligent race that threatens the lives of all creatures in the Milky Way Galaxy. The Alliance eventually makes a new discovery on an unclaimed planet in the furthest reaches of the galaxy. An [Overlord] calling himself Ainz Ooal Gown is a new arrival in the political field, and with no one else to help him, Captain Anderson brings him aboard the SSV Normandy in return for his support in the continuing expansion of the human race.
