If you're new to this story, please read *Let Them Eat Cake* on my profile, to understand the characters in this story, and how they got there. **** The story follows Connor, now 21, Steves recently discovered son, as he arrives to live at the flat above the shop, living on his own for the first time. He has a girlfriend, things are ok, but he's unsure of his real feelings, when she meets Steve and Nick, his dad and his step dad, she isn't impressed. As expected a nasty break up ensues. Then Connor finally talks to Blake, head barman of the pub, and his world is flipped upside down. Blake is not only older, but has baggage, lots of it. Beaten and forced to leave home at 17, homelessness, abuse, a failed Vegas marriage, failed relationships, all lead to deep seated self hatred . Connor finds his true self, with Blake, with help from Steve and Nick. But bullying and abuse by the exes brother puts a huge strain on their relationship. Blakes estranged sister finds him, after 15 years, with the news of their abusive fathers death, Blake is forced to confront and relive his past. Sexual abuse and a car accident pull them together. The death of Blakes equally abusive mother, reconnection with his sister, marriage to Connor, and matching tattoos are the final cleansing. **** Until one night Blake finds a boy eating from the bins behind the pub, giving chase he loses him but the copper curl on the boys forehead haunts him.
