Mathew Cunningham always looked at Nancy Wheeler like a queen. She, much like him, was one of the smartest kids in their grade. But she rarely ever noticed him. The first time she really acknowledged him was when she needed assistance on her investigating of the disappearances in Hawkins.

The two had spent so much time together as friends, that Nancy didn't realize it when she first caught feelings for Matt. Over the next two years, Nancy finally realized her feelings for the boy, but Hawkins is a very limiting place, and may not give the two the time they need with each other.
