But James loves the sun, he loves the sensation of tingles it gives him when he wanders around the fields with no clue of where he has to go.

James hates the glowing moon, and hates how it ruins his passion for flying around the pitch, amongst the rays of sunshine. How it determines he should go inside and retreat from his interests.
Regulus loves the moon - it lingers in the sky with the company of the thousand stars. It brings his brother to him, the star; Sirius. It's the Sirius he can talk to without feeling like he was intruding in on his brother's life.
