She was forced to have more powers. For years being trapped until she escaped, staying with her grandmother until she too had passed. Mel spent a year alone until she needed Tony Starks help and he eventually took her in. Her life was a mess, it was never normal to begin with and she didn't except it to get any better, but she also didn't expect it to get as bad as it did.
