Description
This story is set in 1885 about a young, brave girl who has spent all 12 of her years being bullied for her looks, head to toe. Elizabeth is an intelligent soul who has lived a highly strict childhood with her parents being abusive and hot-headed. It's only a matter of time until she's had enough and ends up running away from a supposed "home." She's determined for adventure, hoping for a happier life all on her own until two unmarried siblings, Mary and James find her stranded all alone underneath a tree, dirty and unhealthily skinny, looking like she hasn't eaten it days or weeks. They decide to take Elizabeth home for a few days to bring her back to life. In the mean time, Mary spends some time debating whether the child is worth keeping for the help of the house. WARNING: Contains strong language, racism, substance abuse and violence. Based on the novel 'Anne of Green Gables' by L.M. Montgomery.
