Ilia's struggled with sleep paralysis almost all his 19years of life, over the years it's gotten worse and worse. He fondly named his sleep paralysis demon "Dave", Dave stood about 8feet tall with no face.
Since Ilia's paralysis has gotten worse its turned physical.
