Part 1: Survive

What would you do to escape a terrible situation? How far would you go? Would you fight, or would you give up? Valeria wakes up in a strange place and realizes she has survived her worst nightmare. However, she isn't alone. She has a guardian angel watching over her. Someone who understands her and he helps her heal on her own terms. Ray doesn't expect anything in return, but as the father of one of Valeria's former students, it doesn't take long for her to become useful. Valeria soon finds herself walking a path she never knew she could and finds the strength to do so in unfamiliar territory. But when she starts putting the pieces together of Ray's life, she can't help but wonder if her saving grace is keeping her safe or making things worse. Can she escape the monster in her nightmares? Or will the past catch up to her? Can she find the courage to tell her side of the story? Can she find the courage to accept the one thing she always wanted...the one thing she never thought she could have...the one thing she would die to protect?
