She's popular because of her looks. She hates it. She feels that no one cares to look Past her looks and actually get to know her or even treat her like a real human. He's a total nobody. He hates it. Despite his good looks no one really cares to talk to him let alone befriend him. All he wants to do is make people smile and by doing that he's decided to become an idol.
