Krissy Curtis lives with her twin brother Ponyboy, and older brothers Soda Pop and Darry. They live in the poor part of town (the east side) where there are gangs and rumbles. Rumbles are often against Socs, the rich, west-side people.

The Curtis' have their own gang: Dally, two-bit, Johnny and Steve! Krissy is always hanging out with Two-bits little sister, Georgie, along with Pony and Johnny.

Darry never let's her do anything but school, and with her brothers being protective, she tries her best to live in excitement.

She falls for Johnny Cade but what conflict will that cause with the gang?

Will Krissy join the biggest rumble her gang has ever been a part of?
