Description
Being the little sister to a hockey star with his whole life pointed in the clear direction of success has never been easy for 17 year old Willow. Her parents forget her existence most of the time, spending her days sitting with them in the shadowy stands of an arena cheering on her brother and his best friend, Charlie. He was off limits, Ryan's best friend since childhood, the boy Willow had been secretly crushing on for most of her life. What happens when Charlie can't hold back anymore, when he can't go on pretending he sees Willow as the annoying little sister, when he no longer wants to do what he is supposed to? SNEAK PEEK : "Have you eaten?", he asked, the question that had made my stomach turn. I didn't want him to know. He was on to me. All I could do to respond was look at him with an expression of guilt, he knew. "For Christ's sake BILLY!", he yelled. I flinched, I had never seen him yell like that ever before. He clearly saw my fear, the way I jumped back at his action and paused, coming towards me, placing my face in his hands, his eyes welling with tears, he began openly crying. "Who hurt you?! Who fucking HURT YOU BILLY!!? Tell me!!", he screamed. He walked towards the fridge, then handed me a plate of food and placed it on the table in front of me. "Eat Billy. Fucking eat. We're not fucking leaving until you eat!", he yelled. His hands running through his hair in a look of distress. He was crying, because he knew how many years of pain I had experienced hating myself for all this time. "I can't.", I said, crying. I couldn't sit there and let him watch me eat and cry, I felt like I was naked on a stage with a flooded audience. He pulled up a chair beside me, our legs touching. He picked up the fork, and began feeding me. He leaned forward, deeply kissing me to wipe my lips.
