Blaze is a hybrid. She's been around for over 1000 years, but since she's immortal she looks, acts, and basically is 17.
Life is hard for her. Being the only hybrid in the whole land of Aaa can get pretty lonesome, especially when people find out they run away screaming. Well, most people do. It's hard for her to know that anyone who actually does accept her, will eventually get old and die, leaving her alone once again.

Until she meets Marshall Lee the Vampire King.
