Lucy's life is mundane. Ever since graduating college two years prior, her only goal has been to "make it" as an editor at San Francisco's esteemed Chronicle Books. Before that, her goal had been to get published. However, after an incident her senior year, she gives up writing for good. Now, her only hope is to give other writers a chance. But when an old face re-enters her life, Lucy finds herself questioning everything.
