Tris gets the happy ending she deserved. She starts a family, and while it wasn't exactly unplanned, it's still startling when it happens. As a new branch of their life unfolds, they discover it challenging to find a balance between personal life, friends, past familial issues, and work at the same time.

They struggle with all the "what ifs" that come with this newfound chapter in their lives.

Tris never had to go into the weapons lab, because David didn't decide to wipe Chicago. Uriah came out of his coma as snarky as ever, and Lynn never died. Nor did Marlene.
