The fairytales taught us wrong and so did all our books. Humans were never the most advanced beings on the planet that we call earth. How could they be? When all they did was tear each other down viciously, and in their dirty, murky swamp of politics drowned all who were helpless and vulnerable. There was still a world unknown to these petty humans. A world where magic was never questioned, yet technology blended in seamlessly. A world where the rulers knew how to play the dangerous game of power. The Mer-world with it's seven kingdoms was the most prosperous civilization to have ever existed on earth. And the seven kings and queens of this world were respected beyond measures. The royals had all that they could ask for, yet there was a silent flame of desire which lurked in their hearts. The desire to see, at least, if not possess the 'Star of the Ocean: Maristella', the daughter of the Great Lady of Kindness, the goddess whose name they were not supposed to pronounce. She would soon be born again as the crown princess of the kingdom of Oceana. But no one knew when she will appear in this era. And when she finally appears, her identity is concealed from the rest of the world apart from those who were trusted enough to live in the Oceanian palace, for she holds 'the key' to the entire power structure of the ocean world.
But what happens when a silent war starts to brew in her life because to most people in this cruel world, she is just a means to attain limitless power? Yet she knew that as long as there are people who love her endlessly, not because they want her power, but simply because she as a being is precious to them, she will remain safe. And what happens when the bonds of deepest love start to break? Will she be lost forever? End herself? Or like the perfect daughter of a goddess, reign her kingdom with powerful hands?
