Or rather, his Beast went to someone else: Ruby Wrenklust. He was meant to get a Phoenix, but one way or another, it left him for Ruby. Xanthus's sister went to consult the village chief, who had the deepest connection to the Beastly World, and he concluded, "That could only mean that the Phoenix was unable to get to Ruby in a direct way, so it used Xanthus as its link to Ruby and thus your mishap. In other words, Xanthus may not have a Beast of his own." At the age of 16, where everyone is free to travel out of the village at that age, Xanthus set out to find his real Beast, but meanwhile finds something that's threatening both his and the Beast's world. ____________________________________ All of a sudden, a long figure shot up from under the cliff, and it demanded for an answer to its question: "Who dares trespass on the land of the Great Beasts?" It's emerald scales and golden horns shone in the afternoon sunshine. Its thin whiskers and scarlet red mane fluttered, its mercury orbs showed no mercy. Despite being injured, the young boy stood in awe, for what he had just encountered was a Heavenly Beast itself.
