In the year 1975, a fossil was discovered, but was unable to be truly investigated until 2013. Inside was quite a strange discovery: the skeletons of a thrinaxodon, an early mammal, and a broomistega, an early amphibian, were found "cuddling."

Scientists believe that what most likely happened was that the thrinaxodon was hibernating, and the broomistega, found to be injured, was seeking shelter, and found the thrinaxodon's burrow and considered it to be safe. However, the burrow was soon flooded, killing both animals.

However, some believe that there is a different story to be told about these unlikely denmates who shared such a fate.
