After the Black Sun Vampire Coven stormed Monster Island, many of its inhabitants were left reeling, the ones still alive anyway.

Seamus is a Harpy, and after being injured in the siege, he's unable to fly. It's a slow process, and it's made worse when he finds out he's having to house the island's new head of security, a dragon who goes by Anderson. As they develop security around the island further, Seamus and Anderson grow closer, but even a dragon can't keep you safe forever.

The Bird on the Ground is a sequel to The Dragon of Monster Island. It can be read alone, but it is most enjoyable when the books are read in order.
