When Maxine's turbulent family situation takes her from urban Chicago to rural Tennessee for the summer, every part of her life is flipped upside-down. Her eccentric aunt is nice, but what will others say about the new girl? As the changes shaking her life throw her into the arms of another girl, she's got even more obstacles to face.
