Description
The Fey were a race that evolved alongside humans. But for a reason that neither archaeologists nor historians can figure out, the Fey race became extinct within the span of 50 to 100 years. Hundreds of thousands of years later, for yet another unidentifiable reason, the Fey came back. Starting in 1839, Human parents began giving birth to Fey children. Initially thought of as a deformity, many parents chose to have their wings removed. The young Fey rarely survived. Those who chose to keep their children as they were, were astonished to find that less than a month after birth, fluffy feathers grew on their wings. By 1900, a third of all births were Fey. And by the year 2000, Fey comprised just shy of one-third of the Earth's population. Akemi Jacobs is a Fey. When he was young, he had the wing equivalent of restless leg syndrome. His fluffy little wings were constantly aflutter. The moment his flight feathers came in, he was in the air and suffered many a broken arm or leg during rough landings. Akemi is in high school, now, one of fifteen in his school of roughly a thousand. Bullied my most (For being both a Fey and a cheerleader), adored by a few, Akemi tries to fit in.
