From afar, the tintinnabulation of church bells chimed, lending a delicate contrast to her next words, which contradicted my belief that I might've offended her: "Whoever said you can forget when you can remember, even if you choose to move on, Tae?"

The comfort of her smile wrapped around me like orchids blooming in early spring, tying me to the night for the next two months of summer.
