Description
In March of 1971, the crown princess of Gwynival and her unborn child are assassinated by anti-monarchist terrorists in a bombing meant to rock the kingdom to its very core. With the line of succession uprooted, the new princess, Adalina Managwald, finds herself in an unenviable position. She must maintain public opinion, keep her family on the throne, and fight off anti-monarchist attacks like the one that killed her cousin. How does she do all of this without losing herself in the process? Viscount Henry Edward struggles to hold on to his future marriage to Adalina. With his home country, England, accused of the attack, he finds this future to be hanging by a very particular thread. Can he salvage his marriage, or will he have to sacrifice his love to maintain the royal family's appearance? Jack Baldwin has been Adalina's bodyguard for five years and her lover for two. Not to mention that his uncle is the leader of the main anti-monarchist political party in Gwynival. He hovers in this precarious position, stuck between duty, family, and his heart. Will he let Adalina lose her only remaining tie to the real world?
