Description
A girl with a boy "best friend," if you can even call them that. He is quite unavailable, but somehow he is always there. In her head, at least. They don't do much together, so she stays focused on other friends. He slowly falls away. I guess this is what he wanted. He likes his life better this way. This rumbling feeling in her tummy shaped of anger will probably go away at some point. Everyone can be forgotten. She knows all too well that this is how the human brain works, so she doesn't worry too much. The feeling didn't leave yet. "Please let it just go away, I'm tired," she says, "I can't handle this anymore! I might just text him." Oops, one text too many. He doesn't respond, how unexpected. Got to love putting effort into the wrong people. If he's so wrong, though, then why can't she just let him go? Is it because she hasn't found a replacement? She should go look for one. "I really like you! Do you want to go to my place after school?" she says. No, not to, ahem, him. To another guy. "Yes, of course! I think you might be one of the coolest people I've met," he responds. Hmm, 'one of the coolest he's met,' sounds familiar... "Hey, I haven't talked to you in a while... are you okay?" Ugh, it's, ahem, him. I don't know, is she okay? I don't think she's been super great, maybe okay. She's been distracted, you could say. But could you call that okay? I don't think so. "I'll talk to you later, I'm busy," she responds.
