Nicole Wagner is a paramedic for Colorado Springs' very own St. Francis Medical Center. She works hard to do the job right. Yet, a traumatic breakup has her frazzled. And it wasn't even recent. It has been over a year, but the memories still come. She gave up on men. But then Blake Tanner walked back into her life and frazzled her even more.
Blake Tanner's a cop. A good one. But when someone starts smuggling illegal weaponry into the US, and even closer, Colorado Springs, life becomes a whirlwind of events. And the whirlwind turns into a tornado when he sees Nicole Wagner, a woman he hasn't seen since high school. She's obviously not interested in a relationship. And neither is he. Right?
