Routine exoplanet surveys gone awry. Desperate bids to save a home from an encroaching ice age. Art birthed from catastrophe. The Ashwell Challenge is a collection of short stories written on shared prompts from fantasy to science fiction, contemporary to humor. We're D & T Ashwell, a couple doing a writing challenge together in which we alternatingly propose a prompt and each have two weeks to write our own short story before reconvening to share. Story prompts can range from a thought experiment to piece of news we have read to a picture that sparked an idea. Story genres are unrestricted. The only condition: each story must be less than 25 standard typed pages. *This is a work in progress. The goal is to achieve 25 short stories apiece before we move on to our next writing challenge!*
