Marco Bodt is blind. That's why his best friend Jean Kirschtein, who is unfortunately a mute, helps him get around. Of course Marco helps Jean as well, but the two were practically inseparable.
One day, Jean and Marco were wandering around when they accidentally bump into Levi Rivaille. Jean mouths out to him and is surprised when Levi understands him.
Levi confesses he's deaf, and he joins the two making a little group.
When a mysterious person of high power visits them one day, they are given an opportunity to gain back their lost senses. They quickly agree but without hearing the consequences. And the consequences are more than what any of them expected...
