It's mid-October, 1983. You live in Iowa (Yes, I know canonically it's Utah) You're a junior in high school and a new boy comes to your school named Michael Afton. You discovered earlier that Michael is actually your new neighbor. You wouldn't know it at first, but this boy would change your life forever. You and Michael get into quite a bit of trouble. Sometimes intentionally and sometimes not. You soon find yourself getting strange feelings about this boy, and you start to wonder, so this is love..? But one girl named Whitney won't stand for this, and she really doesn't like you. Will you refuse to let her get in the way of you and Michael? Besides that, something about Michael's dad seems a bit..off... It is the BEST fanfiction I ever read, so please, PLEASE, go read it. It might be a long fanfic, but it's so worth it. There will be no smut, just fluff and angst, y'know.
