I gently layed the side of my head on the pillow and stared at my phone, turned to have the screen face the blankets. It was modest and dark, but comfortable and lavish to me. There wasn't much to want to escape from today. I had just hung up on a nice call, and it was getting late and time to settle down, I had somewhere to be tomorrow, and I wouldn't be late! Not this time. I'll make sure I'm not, despite my reputation to sleep through things. Not tomorrow, it would be different. Surely I would set all my alarms and be perfectly on time. Or, like a normal person, I could get a valid amount of sleep at a normal time and wake up early because I naturally did. But no, I'd never resort to that. Instead, maybe I would just close my eyes and then think. Relax myself and then go back on my phone. For just a second I'd let my eyes rest. My thoughts would keep me awake, and I wouldn't fall asleep. I sighed and yawned, leaned closer into myself as I huddled from the coldness outside, and the pain of having my window open because I refused defeat from a meer window. It was so cold, but I was already feeling warmer as I rubbed my feet together. Quickly, my consciousness faded into what should've been bliss. But something changed, and it was just there today, nothing glorious or hideous today. How odd... ------ My version of writing Vanished, a Colour Crew comic series by @sharkruins on Twitter.
