Katrina Kelly and Race have been quite close. Kat's parents left her alone, so she got a job as a newsie. When the prices for papers rises, Jack Kelly, Kat's older brother, organizes a strike. Her and Race become even more closer. How will Jack feel when Kat refuses to go with him to Santa Fe to stay with Race after the strike? How will Race and Kat dodge the obstacles that get thrown at them due to Kat's past?
