People could not control or manipulate the mind to do things like move objects, control the elements, concoct tinctures that could heal, or dream of the future. Or so I thought." "Human blood lines had diluted and evolved and the magic we speak of today is much, much lesser than the magic that our ancestors had practiced. Where they could have destroyed and leveled cities, we might learn to control a flame. Where they were masters of astral projection and similar mind-like abilities, we might be able to control and understand our dreams, intuitions, feel what others feel through touch, and if we were lucky, manipulate the location of an object or know one's whereabouts from a distance.
