Description
As a boy Nevan was told stories of a being who could walk through the shadows. A figure that has never been seen or identified, at least those who have seen them never remain alive to tell the tale. Some call the assassin a spirit, for nothing can bend through the darkness that easily, but others swear that it is human. They call it Iete, translating to ghostly one. Nevan never knew what to believe, that was until he found a girl covered in her own blood on his balcony, the tattoo of the Iete engraved into her wrist. _________________________________________ "What is this I hear about an increase on missing persons?" The man in yellow sends one last glare at the purple man before leaning back in his seat, trying to let go of some tension, "It has risen by over 70% since last winter." "Do we know why?" I ask, grabbing a stack of papers that a man wearing red besides me hands over. I scan the papers, looking through the different reports. All of them talk about the victim going missing over suspicious circumstances. Bloody hand print of the wall, but no blood anywhere else. Sign of a struggle in one room, but not in any other. There is one where their isn't even any sign of anything, the doors and window were even locked. It's almost as if many of them just vanished into thin air. "I think we all know one factor," The man covered in sweat from before speaks, voice wavering as he does so, "Iete." "Irae is just a myth! A story used to scare children into doing their chores without a complaint, fearing that if they don't then it will come for them in the night," The purple man let's out a puff of hot air, spreading his arms wide. "Irae isn't a myth! I have seen them!"
