Prologue

After confirming Jessica - his girlfriend of two and a half years - has been cheating on him, Mort Rainey retreats to his secluded cabin in the woods and starts writing a new story - a sequel to Secret Window - to overcome the hole left in his heart. But his writer's block comes back along with John Shooter, an old part of him that he didn't think was there anymore. It seems inevitable that Shooter will break free of his chains and come out.

Mort can see the hat. Will he wear it once again?

This will have violence, but I've turned mature off for now, since I don't know how detailed it will be yet.
