Description
Following an incident involving Cairo Velasco, he sent to his mother's hometown of Sekwel. On his first night in Sekwel, the daughter of the chief village disappeared and it enlivens the legend of Seméleng that once faded into obscurity. Seméleng was a forest-dwelling entity whose hair was infested with millipedes and bristle worms. Everyone in the Sitio Sekwel presumed that the girl has been captured by Seméleng. Cairo Velasco's modern criticism, however, cannot be altered by outmoded local legends and beliefs. He was deeply skeptical of the tale which was against his modern views. Cairo believed that Seméleng is an illusory character, it was insubstantial. However, after Cairo Velasco's journey exploring the forest, he began to be disturbed by an abhorrent old woman that crept menacingly into his dream. He begins to question his own beliefs as the line between reality and illusion becomes increasingly blurred.Will Cairo be able to uncover the truth behind the Semeleng entity, or will he be forever trapped in his own disbelief?
