Prologue

When petty thief Jubilee Li has a near-death experience, she awakens with the ability to see angels & demons. This, quite literally, scares the hell out of her. Deciding to change her ways, she gives up thieving and relocates to the other side of the world-Beijing, China-intending to live a quiet life under the radar. But when she sees a girl talking with a demon and decides to follow them both, she winds up recruited by a peculiar detective onto a murder case in which the stakes of life & death aren't just for the wicked, but the righteous-though who can sort the two?-and for Jubilee herself.
