"I swear to god," I snarled, tapping the wrench against his leather gear, his racing tag-Pyro-clinking against the metal. "You pull one of those tricks again during a warm up and I'll personally skewer you in front of the shop so everyone can see." "You'd like that, wouldn't you? Hell, it's my car and the crowds gotta have something to watch, sweetheart." His car, that I've maintained and improved for the past year. Pyro lifts the wrench with his gloved forefinger, brushing me off. He pulls his helmet on as a bell rings. Strapping the bottom, he turns away from me, not glancing back as he spoke. "Ma wants you over for dinner tomorrow. Don't be late." The crowd erupts into cheers, chanting the name of the rookie that broke records previously deemed impossible. I sighed, shaking my head. The car definitely has to be checked at the shop again.
