Chapter 01 - No such thing as normal

Monsters are real. But we don't use that term anymore. We call them Similis, and everybody has at least a few in their family tree. Their powers are handed down the generations, but they fade over time. Most people don't have any powers left. Maybe you can't sleep during a full moon if you had a werewolf somewhere in your family many centuries ago. But if the conditions are just right, your ancestral Similis powers will come through., and Jen, as it turns out, had won this gigantic supernatural ancestral lottery. There's no such thing as normal after all.
