The start of everything

During Shuichi's performance of Romeo and Juliet, he played Romeo whilst his best friend, Kaede, played along side him as his lover.
Although, he felt something undescribable.
It didn't feel right, he felt...out of place.
He was supposed to love Kaede, was he not? How come he couldn't take his eyes of a certain boy in the back?
