The curtain is rising, but the audience is silent.
There is no applause, no excitement.
They don't know what they're sat for yet, the cover page has only just been turned.
Unless, of course, the blurb betrayed my plot.
Their eyes scan the first line of the stage, and I wait within the words to be introduced, somewhere on that page.
They'll see me soon
And you will too
And for my audience, I'll put on a splendid show,
Because I know you see me.
