Evelyn Forrest has always dreamt about the day she becomes so head-over-heels in love with someone that the rest of the world just disappears. The only issue is that all the guys in her school suck, with the exception of her childhood best friend, Vincent. After getting out of her previous 2 year, highly toxic and emotionally abusive relationship at the end of sophomore year, Evelyn decides she's going into junior year a new person. **** "Who's that?" Vincent asked me, pointing to the unfamiliar boy sitting in the back row of our biology class. His shaggy brown hair fell over his eyes as he stared down at his phone. I shrugged. "I'll go find out." "Ev wait-" Vincent started but I was already making my way towards the back table. Before I was even halfway there the one girl I absolutely despised threw herself into the seat next to him. She put on her best smile and held her hand out to him. "I'm Ariah," she said batting her eyelashes. Gross. To my surprise, instead of looking up from his phone and looking at her, he had looked up at me. My lips thinned and I quickly retreated back to Vincent. "Don't pay attention to her," Vincent muttered as I sat down next to him. I opened my notebook and glanced back at the boy. Ariah was going on about herself, but the boy never once looked up from his phone. I had to get to know him.
