Description
It's been nearly eleven years since the death of L. Five years since Light Yagami, more commonly known as Kira, was put to justice. And two since the "Cheap Kira" was brought to his attention. Near, now a twenty-three year old young man, has claimed his rightful title as L. Solving those cases he finds interesting, he spends his days building tarot card towers and making insightful observations about his chosen "mysteries". However, truth be told, he is growing bored. Then a new danger arises. Somebody has gained possession of a Death Note-that much is obvious. But this new Kira is nothing like he has ever seen before. The murders are brutal, bloody, and made to be agonizingly painful- and, worst of all, the killer doesn't seem to mind who the victims are. This time a notebook has fallen into the hands of a brilliant sadist whose only goal seems to be to drown the world in the blood of the innocent. The young man knows that he can't defeat this new enemy on his own. The previous L's death and his short partnership with Mello have proved that much. But now... Who can Near trust in this dawning of the shadows?
