Description
The Scottish Princess, Mary Stuart, has just turned 18. She has put off getting married for as long as she can but now she has no choice. All the princes of Europe want her, she is the only person alive with a legitimate claim to England. Her Father has arranged for several princes to come to Scotland to court her. Mary could not be less happy about, she knows none of these princes will actually love her. They only want her for Scotland's lands and riches, her beauty, and the claim to the English throne. There are three words that describe Francis, the Dauphin of France. Rich, partier, and playboy. He has no plans to get married, at least not for awhile. While he very much likes his fair share of women, he wants to be able to pledge his love and fidelity to his wife. Now he is to go to Scotland to meet the Princess, who his Father hopes he will marry. But this is nothing special, he has met lots of princesses who his Father wants him to marry. And he has gotten out of everyone of them. One last thing about Francis, he is extremely competitive. He has won every battle, joust, and face he has ever been in. While in Scotland another his cousin, Prince Louis Conde, makes a bet with him. The first one to make the princess fall in love with them, wins.
