Author's Note

Moving to the middle of nowhere was a good idea in theory. Fresh air, hiking paths, farmer's markets... It's a pretty low-key, inexpensive lifestyle.

That is, of course, until that school's alarm starts to go off every night for no apparent reason. And that weird lady keeps showing up on your front porch in the dead of night.

Live in the middle of the woods, they said. It'll be fun, they said.

Yeah, no. It's not.
