Chapter 1: Mixed Signals

"He's not into me", I exclaimed to my co-worker.
I was frustrated because apparently, everybody at my job saw some underlining chemistry between our boss and I. According to my co-workers, I was oblivious to the man's love. However, I had known Mr. Alec Washington for a long time now. And I knew for a fact that this man was not in love with me. But this didn't seem to settle down well with the rest of my associates. For I was their mere subject of entertainment in the "How to make the cold-heart-of-a boss soft" show. I was their number one contestant.
