The Spartan II Program's time is long over, replaced by the newer Spartan IV's. Candidates for this program are volunteers that participate due to their extensive military background. The technological advancements of Mjolnir armor systems and augmentations. Many incoming Spartans are aware of the legends and tales that the previous generations of super soldiers created. The tale about the children kidnapped for its program lived on with infamy. In the latter half of the Human-Covenant War, the Office of Naval Intelligence directed Doctor Catherine Halsey and her team to create a new batch of Spartan II soldiers, because of their success. Due to a shortage of able candidates, only 17 subjects could be put through the program. Freak accidents during augmentations lead to one capable candidate of the program...
