Where did Wei Wuxian go after he died? Why was Lan Wangji never able to reach him? Why did he come back with incomplete memories? Wei Wuxian, exactly sixteen years-old, exactly sixteen years after his death, has never met any humans other than his parents, has no memories of when he was alive, has no trace of the past other than nightmares that haunt him. And, of course, the knocking, which has happened once every night for the last thirteen years. Or at least, he did, until one night, the knocking doesn't stop. The scenes begin changing and he sees pieces of his past, unfamiliar to him, until a certain person in white helps him remember. *This was the first fanfic I wrote. The concept was too complex for me when I wrote it (it still is, but that's besides the point). Executing it in under 3,000 words was probably a bad idea as well. I could edit it with my new and improved abilities. But my new and improved laziness is telling me to go to sleep. Godobye! Oh, and this one has a semi-happy ending, because I wrote it before my depression and suicidal ideation took over my writing. Still a trigger warning for suicide and major character death though. Sorry not sorry!*
